Pearl of Wisdom: Emily Frick of Columbia Country Club

Another Saturday, another Pearls of Wisdom shout out!

Twice a week, we will be introducing some of our favorite pros from the wedding industry and sharing their own piece of personal advice, or pearl of wisdom, for fellow brides. Their advice will either be directly regarding a bride’s big day or a tip that is helpful that they have learned along the way!

We have already talked a lot about venues by now, if you’ve been keeping up with the blog, but this venue is no different! The Columbia Country Club not only has an amazing 18-hole golf course, but they also host some gorgeous weddings and special events. This venue is so charming that they guarantee an unforgettable day!

The idea to start the Club began in 1915 by a group of locals who felt Columbia needed a country club! The country club opened in 1921 and has been up and running ever since. While they are known for putting on the green, we also know them for their weddings! The venue has a great indoor ballroom with options to use the veranda or the event lawn if clients choose to bring their parties outdoors!

We reached out to the Director of Special Events at CCC, Emily Frick, and spoke with her regarding wedding planning, brides, and working at the club. She stated,

“Soak it all in, it goes by fast! The big day you have been planning for months! It’s your day! Do what fits best with your style, your vibe, and your vision. At the end of the day, no matter what, you’re there for one thing and that’s love. Don’t sweat the small stuff. As an event venue, we make sure your day is flawless! There are some amazing vendors in the area and all of them are here for you to make your day a dream. Best part of my job is watching the overall joy whether it’s during the vows or on the dancefloor as Mr. and Mrs. for the first time, it never gets old!The biggest advice I got as a bride: when there’s a million different aspects to planning, pick your big bucket items. What matters most to you? And of course, get creative and have fun!” – Emily Frick, Director of Special Events

Emily makes such good points in this Pearl! We at Delight stand by Emily when she says to not sweat the small stuff because at the end of the day, you are there to get married! All the other little things are not as important when you are faced with the one you love.
