Pearl of Wisdom: Jami and Laura of Good Stuff China

It’s Saturday and y’all should know what that means by now! Don’t know? It’s Pearl of Wisdom Round 2! Today, we are going to be talking all things Good Stuff China!

Confused about our Pearls of Wisdom series?! Let us explain how it works! Twice a week, we showcase, on our social media and blog, some of our favorite vendor friends. We talk about who they are, what they do, and how you can get in contact with them. They also graciously shared their own personal advice for brides regarding the wedding industry and how to better plan your big day!

A lot of details go into planning a wedding and one, very important, but sometimes forgotten aspect, is the tablescape. A great way to make sure that your style is thought of, even on your table, is to hire a china & place setting vendor. Our favorite choice for this is our friends over at Good Stuff China in Kansas City!

Good Stuff China is owned by two wonderful ladies who also happen to be best friends, Jami Van Hercke and Laura Shore! Jami originally started the business after a long love of antiquing with her mother. She got her degree in Art History and really enjoys the art of using beautiful vintage pieces to have a purpose in the present. With the help of her partner, Laura, these two are known as the caretakers of vintage china and glassware! Aside from designing tablescapes for events and weddings, these two ladies are also preschool teachers! How fun is that?

When we asked Jami and Laura for their Pearl of Wisdom, they said something simple, but so true in the wedding industry,

“You can make your celebration special and unique on any budget, explore your options.” – Jami and Laura of Good Stuff China

Simple and to the point! This is a great piece of advice that may seem kind of obvious but is often overlooked. You are fully capable of showcasing your style and individuality as a couple, even on a budget! Don’t just settle for the first price you find. Dig around a bit and compare vendors! Like Jami and Laura said, explore your options! Especially if you are paying for the wedding as a couple, without outside help, you want a good deal and that may take some time. At Delight, we love finding a good deal (it’s one of our major talents, not going to lie!), so we are in full support of this Pearl of Wisdom!

If you’re interested in booking Good Stuff China and want to see some of their past tablescapes, be sure to scroll through their gorgeous Instagram page. They also showcase all their prices and options over on the website, if you need to budget or want to plan a bit ahead. Don’t forget to tell them that your friends over at Delight Events sent you!
